To all those out there who haven’t realize, ARSENE DOESN’T BUY WINGERS

In my opinion, Sagna, Fabregas, Gallas and to some extent Adebayor are the best players for us this season. However, we are not perfect and there are a couple of positions and players which really needs improving and that is why i wrote this article.

I feel the major problems are Almunia, Eboue and Rosicky on the left flank.

Goalkeeper
I personally feel Lehmann’s chances of staying at Arsenal is equivalent to Henry returning to Arsenal. He is not a bad keeper at all, but he is really old at 38 and surely can’t have too many good years ahead of him. I feel he should be sold and Arsenal can stand to recoup some the money they paid to buy him. Almunia has improved no doubt, but he really is not the world class goalkeepers like Casillas, Cech or Buffon who can really help teams win. His handling is great, but it is his anticipation and positioning that is really problematic. The goals he conceded from Bale, Berbatov, Ronaldo etc all illustrate this fact. I feel a better goalkeeper should be put in place soon or else Arsenal might really suffer, especially with Toure out for the African Nations Cup.

Right wing
To all those out there who haven’t realize, ARSENE DOESN’T BUY WINGERS. he merely buy fast players and convert them to play on the wings. None of our current wide players, Eboue, Hleb, Rosicky, Diaby, Walcott, Eduardo? were wingers before they came to Arsenal. That is not a problem most of the time as we still have good play coming from the flanks. However, now opposing teams are really playing the 4-5-1 with the holding midfielder and we really can’t attack down the centre all the time. And let’s not forget we have strikers like Adebayor and Eduardo who can really score with headers. And the biggest problem on the wings is none other than Eboue. He really cannot score to save his life, but that is okay with me, Hleb cannot score too, but he is one of my favourite players nonetheless. However, Eboue’s passing is really, really horrible, and to think he is playing at the Arsenal. He can cross, yes, but he doesn’t, for some reason. To date he has only one assist this season, which is really horrible given the number of games he’s started and the number of goals we’ve scored.

Left wing
Rosicky really isn’t a bad player, he just should not play on the left wing. Anybody who is smarter than a pineapple should notice that Rosicky is very, very right-footed. And that is why he has to constantly cut inside which is really predictable for defenders. I have seen Rosicky play for Dortmund and Czech Republic, and he really excels in centre midfield. He is a creative player and not unlike Fabregas. One thing to note is Rosicky has scored quite a number of goals this season and I am pleased for him. However, the goals all come from the centre(duh), and with his shooting ability Rosicky should be playing in the centre like Cesc or in the hole.
