Toure speaks, maybe he shouldn’t have

I guess the saying form in temporary and class is permanent is true. In that case, who is up for resigning Tony Adams and Ian Wright?

It is always pretty difficult to try and write a blog the next day after doing a late night one because you pretty much catch all the daily news in the evening. So today is probably a day of waffle, not that any other day is not a day of waffle but you know what I mean.. maybe.

What I didn’t catch last night was Kolo Toure’s quite open talk about the Arsenal dressing room. You would have thought after all that has happened with Gallas this season that players would be a little more reserved in coming out and speaking their minds about their teammates.

“Many problems occurred and made me want to move on, Is it because of Gallas? Not at all. At the start of the season I didn’t play a lot and I felt that it was the right moment to go. There were some problems between the players, but this must remain an internal matter because I’m not the kind of man who creates controversies.

“I have changed my mind and I hope I will stay at the club, for sure. Wearing the Arsenal shirt gives me huge pride and I hope I will stay. I am under contract until 2011 and [regarding a new deal] we will see at the end of the season.

“Our relationship [with Gallas] has improved, but it’s just a professional relationship. Once we are on the pitch we try to keep a professional attitude and to communicate. We never got on well together. You see, I’m friends with [Johan] Djourou, with [Emmanuel] Eboue, with Gael [Clichy], but it’s not the same with William.”

“It’s the same within every company, you can’t be friends with everybody.”

Yes, that is very true. You cannot like or be friends with everyone at your company but the difference is that in most places of work, a colleague will not speak into a microphone or camera about not being friends or not getting on with another member. It just gives an already unforgiving press some more weapons to shoot at us and to be honest, I am quite fed up of being shot at by the media.

On a positive though, it is nice to have the Kolo Toure of old back in the side, I was worried for a moment there. I guess the saying form in temporary and class is permanent is true. In that case, who is up for resigning Tony Adams and Ian Wright?

Lucky that there is at least one player who is feeding the media the right way and that is from one of the youngest and most inexperienced of them all. Theo Walcott has spoken of his ‘family’ at the club.

Theo said:

“The dressing room after the game was like we had just won the World Cup final.

“The atmosphere is brilliant. Even though there are all sorts of nationalities in there, we all get along and we are like a family.”

Hats off to you young man (quite literally I guess) he usually does say the correct things when faced with the big lenses.

I think he may well have a chance to start against Blackburn at home as there will be many tired legs around the squad. I mean I played on Tuesday and even today my legs are killing me. ok, I may not quite be Premier League fit.. sod that I am way off Sunday League football fitness right now but its all relative as I didn’t run as much as Denilson, anyway my point is that my body feels broken and if I played tonight then my legs would probably just give up.

I suppose I could have saved myself writing waffle by saying that we have fresher players who shall take to the field come Saturday. *contemplates deleting above*

Eduardo probably would have found himself with his name on the starting team sheet but for Eddie catching the Diaby disease which is a shame. I suppose his body has a lot of healing to do before he can go a long time without picking up injuries.

I expect Alex Song, Djourou and Carlos Vela to be drafted back in. Bacary Sagna surely needs a rest but he doesn’t seem to have a natural back up if Wenger is no longer playing Eboue at right back. But unless he is a cyborg then he will need to sit out very soon.

I shall be back for the usual match preview tomorrow, enjoy your funky Friday.
