Cesc Fabregas may as well be back in training as playing time hasn’t been his best friend over the last few weeks. Watching on from the bench when pretty much every other midfielder is getting thrown on in your place must be demoralising to say the least.
I used to be a big fan of July the 2nd, a day when people were nice to me even if secretly they didn’t like me very much (how that’s possible, I just do not know!) a day when people would just give things to me for nothing. These days July the 2nd is just scary and makes me just look back at all the things that I have put into the ‘I’ll do that later’ side of my brain. Yep, it is my 19th birthday today. If I say that enough perhaps I will believe it.
Not only is July 2nd 2010 my birthday, it is also the opening of the transfer market *whoo hoo* by the end of this article I expect Arsene to have spent £320 million of exciting world class talent around the globe, sorry I mean established household names that everyone has heard of. The funny thing is that some will actually be feeling angry if Arsene hasn’t added at least one player by the end of play today, such is the world we live in.
Certainly movement around the Premier League will begin in the next few days, the ball needs to get moving so other clubs can start redistributing the cash. The trouble is clubs are not as willing to borrow cash to invest on squads so we may have a quieter transfer window than in previous years. I expect that Koscielny (must remember to check spelling once article is complete) will be tied up in the next week or so, especially with pre season training coming up.
Luckily we have a good number of players back for our first session, many have had to cut their South African trip short due to their respective teams falling short in the competition.
Cesc Fabregas may as well be back in training as playing time hasn’t been his best friend over the last few weeks. Watching on from the bench when pretty much every other midfielder is getting thrown on in your place must be demoralising to say the least. I didn’t get the chance to talk about Cesc’s Arsenal future after his comments recently.
His silence stance would always allow him to take a couple steps back, flip his hands up and say ‘eh! It wasn’t me, I didn’t say anything’
I am sure there is plenty going in behind the scenes regarding Cesc and the club that we do not really know about. Cesc and Wenger must have talked about the players future on more than one occasion and not just this season. I believe he will be an Arsenal player come the start of the season unless Barcelona are willing to pay through the Puyol for him.
ooh ooh ohh *hand up like at school* the new kit. What do you make of it? Nice isn’t it? It looks like the kit of champions. How can you disagree with that? You look at Vermaelen, Song and Walcott and think those players are just about to win the title. To be honest, I don’t really care what our kit looks like as long as we can do ourselves justice this season, preferably rough justice.
I just thought of something. The last time we bought a number one goalkeeper, we went on to win the league without losing a game. I think it could be worth buying Mark Schwarzer for that reason alone. Ok maybe not but another body ready to take up the gloves would certainly be an option that I would be interested in if I was in the managers position. Lets all sit and pray together that I am not the one making the decisions.
In other news Tomas Rosicky is focused on pre season with Arsenal and not the rumours circulating about his future.
Rosicky commenting about the rumours said:
“I have noticed that, but I don’t know anything about it, I am only interested in the pre-season schedule with Arsenal.”
Rosicky’s agent backed up his client by saying
“There has been interest in Tomas, but his priority remains with Arsenal.”
There are those who are willing to grab Rosicky by his shirt collar and throw him on the scrap heap after an up and down season just gone but I tend to see things a little differently.
I find it a little more difficult to write a player off so quickly after witnessing the quality that he has shown in bursts when he has been fit. Fitness (for once) wasn’t a problem for most of the season but regaining form consistently after injury has been the issue.
I believe that Rosicky has plenty more to offer Arsenal, and a pre season clear of injury can see him get back to his best. To a certain extent, I think the same for Eduardo, the difference there is that he is now playing a new role, a role that doesn’t see the best of him plus he also has some big names ahead of him.
I would like to see everyone stay (minus Silvestre, sorry Mikel) wipe the slate clean and start again with a harder work ethic and better defensive team display from all in the red and white.
Big game this afternoon. Brazil vs Holland. I am not very happy because I have to miss it. I will do my best to re-watch the game tonight though.
Enjoy your day,
Back tomorrow.
