Good afternoon Gooners,
There is plenty to talk about today but very little of actual substance. So what is new I suppose?
The media have been writing stories in hope to see fully grown men running around with their hands flailing all over the place shrieking and panicking. Obviously once they have paid for the newspaper or clicked on the website link.
Robin van Persie going to the Barcelona hotel in his Arsenal tracksuit was obviously down to a secret meeting with the Barcelona management. I bet you are wondering how he gets past the whole Arsenal tracksuit thing, well sources close to the hotel stated that as soon as Robin stepped into the hotel room he ripped his stripper style Arsenal tracksuit off in one swift pull and underneath was a brand spanking new Barcelona tracksuit with the words ‘I BELONG TO BARCA’ slapped across his chest.
This brought about a round of applause from the Catalans. van Persie’s agent came in shortly disguised as a porter. Wine flowed, music rang around the hotel room until the early hours.
I hear that the finest fountain pens were sent up to the room in the early hours of the morning. This is awful news for Arsenal and only plunges us further in crisis. I suspect that this news will rock the club even further and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wenger, Walcott, Wilshere and Chamberlain all currently packing their bags as we speak.
I did hear ridiculous rumours that Robin van Persie was at the hotel in his Arsenal tracksuit to visit Cesc Fabregas and Ibrahim Afellay who Robin has apparently tried to convince Arsene to bring to Arsenal in the past. *Pfftttttt* stupid I know. Everyone knows that they could communicate much easier on Twitter than all this overrated going in person nonsense.
I would love to do a little experiment, actually no. I would rather someone else did one and then told me the results. That same situation but with two different headlines.
1) van Persie rocks Arsenal by visiting Barcelona hotel
or
2) van Persie visits friends at hotel.
Over double? triple interest even?
If I could, or once again someone else decided to brainwash the masses so that nobody clicked on these obvious attempts to sell newspapers by making up bull-merde and instead got people actually reading and buying newspapers when there were positive stories or I dunno, like a victory or some sort.
It is quite incredible to see the traffic stats and comments during a defeat compared to a victory. I must be some type of weirdo but I find it hard to read too many blogs when we lose a game but when we win, I am a complete blog whore and proud. I will read until my eyes bleed.
If everyone thought like me then really, the world would be a better place I tells you.
What confuses me about this whole Barca hotel thingy and yes I am going for the former story rather than the latter of course, is that Andre Santos our loveable left back also tweeted that he had visited Dani Alves in the same hotel, an obvious lie, he must be also in contract negotiations and there is no reason why so many fountain pens would be sent up just for Robin van Persie, but when you look through the red tops, there is nothing about this big story. I wonder why this is?
Cynics would say it is because a stupid made up story about Santos would not sell but what on earth would cynics know exactly?
Another story that is floating around to cause more arm waving man screams is Cesc Fabregas talking about his role at Barcelona compared to Arsenal and that he is more disciplined etc. It is taken out of context just to cause this reaction, my advice to you is to simply ignore it. It doesn’t actually matter because he is not registered to the club anymore. You could rightly call me a hypocrite for my continuous digs at Samir Nasri over the season but I think it is obvious that Cesc Fabregas has always tried to remain in our good books since he left the club and in interviews (full version not chopped up out of context versions) he has spoken about how highly he regards his former club.
Another non story that will get short shrift once someone gets round to do that brainwashing thing.
Now the junk has been swept up, do you mind if I actually get onto talking about real Arsenal news? Thanks.
Firstly Mikel Arteta does not have a broken ankle so we can all do our happy dance but we are still all unsure as to show serious his problem is. I am secretly hoping that Mikel will make some miraculous recovery in time to face the Chavs but I cannot see that one happening. I would love to know what Wenger’s thinking is in terms of his replacement. Diaby and Coquelin are back in training but haven’t play much in the way of football. Aaron Ramsey is out of form. There is a bit of time to come to those conclusions so more on that in the week.
Having Jack Wilshere available to come in for Arteta would have been quite helpful but that will not be the case for this season. At least Jack will not be going to either the Euros or the Olympics which is good news indeed.
Having the chance to get back for the first day of pre season is very important for him and for us. He still hasn’t played a single game alongside players like Arteta, Santos and Gervinho. Not to mention the possible signings of Podolski and whoever may come through the doors at Arsenal.
We saw how long it took the team to adjust to our new players and the players having to adjust with other players. Pre season is the best time for developing partnerships and if Jack is to play as the advanced midfielder then he will need time.
Before I go, I would like to spit on my hand and shake Barcelona’s hand wishing them good luck for tonight. If they can make Chelsea run a lot and pick up some sprains and pulls then great.
With that, I am out but back tomorrow.
’till then.
