That’s the spirit son! You know a good thing when you see it, at least he has intelligence. I won’t go overboard until a deal is done but it does seem quite likely, Arsene has publicly said on more than one occasion
A very good afternoon to you Gooners around the globe. I have just finished watching Liverpool sneak a victory over Everton which has catapulted them back into the top four, it just goes to show how quickly football can change and why Gooners need to look at the bigger picture instead of reacting to one performance.
Liverpool have found some form and confidence so the game on Wednesday will be almost as important as the game tomorrow.
Thomas Vermaelen has been speaking ahead of the game tomorrow and he believes that we can win the game if we play as a team. That has to be the key, we were defensively ill-disciplined last week and Wenger would have had his players working on that during the training sessions this week.
Vermaelen has targeted Didier Drogba as the danger man which I suppose goes without saying. The Chelsea forward has now scored ten goals in eleven games against us which is quite frightening really. It certainly isn’t down to just Vermaelen or Gallas to stop him, it will require a team effort. The supply to him will have to be cut and that includes not allowing the midfield to have the chance to pick up their heads and play a pass. Alex Song will also have to be on his game to stop balls getting up to his feet in and around the penalty box and the full backs will have to work harder to stop crosses unlike the game at the Emirates.
Beat the Chav’s and we will be 3 points behind them. Three points over 13 games or so is nothing. Ooh the butterflies are well and truly tickling now. I want the team to go and play like warriors tomorrow and fight from the first moment until the last.
I must have written a match preview about five times so far this week, it is difficult not to write about it when there is very little to talk about. Arsene Wenger had a press conference yesterday and I wrote my blog late so I have already spoken about his comments. A real preview of the game will be up tomorrow late morning early afternoony time, all including shiny little Arsenal player graphics and stuff. If I had the resources that Sky had then I would make them walk around with their arms behind the backs and adding some whooshing noises. If I win the lottery then I might just do that.
Day 7625 of the Cesc to Barca house…
Barcelona have planted yet another story about Cesc being in love with Barcelona. Today is task day. The challenge will be to create a new angle of story that has not been printed yet, it is an almost impossible mission but results of that will have filtered through to the British press tomorrow.
Another piece of transfer related stuff is that of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh. He has probably broken the record for a non Arsenal player appearing the most in an Arsenal news feed. I got quite sick and tired of hearing about him after a while but it looks like we may well be hearing plenty more if his comments are true.
Chamakh said:
“My future? Well, I hold all the cards, I have no reason to be under pressure but everyday passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player,”
“My choice is to join Premier League and if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal. Bordeaux has brought me so much. I will soon clearly state things so the club can prepare to find my replacement peacefully.”
That’s the spirit son! You know a good thing when you see it, at least he has intelligence. I won’t go overboard until a deal is done but it does seem quite likely, Arsene has publicly said on more than one occasion that he likes the player and was trying to bring him in.
This could well be the reason why Wenger didn’t bring in a striker during the window.
He is currently playing for a side that is playing in the Champions League and that were crowed champions so I would question why a player would come in to be placed on the bench. From what I have seen of the lad, he doesn’t look like a player who can be moved into a wider position and surely he would have already spoken about the need for first team football but with Van Persie established as our number one striker it will be interesting to see what happens, if it happens.
Match preview tomorrow.
