Another option Wenger has if he is not sure about playing Gibbs in such an important game is to bring Song back into the center of defence with Mikael Silvestre moving across to left back
Another big game coming up tonight, A clean sheet or victory and we are through into the semi finals. Chelsea and Liverpool took part in a very entertaining game that I missed due to playing 5aside footie. Gooners around the world will not complain if we take part in a boring 0-0 draw, that will do just fine.
I hope we go out and play our normal game, any attempts to try and play negatively will only backfire. Arsene has said many times that we do not have the players to play for a goalless draw, the players are not educated to do that, so they have to attack as well as being disciplined.
The return of Nasri and Van Persie will be interesting, interesting in regards to who is the one to be left out? Wenger has been able to include Song, Denilson and Cesc into the same team but we all know that it will not stay that way. Cesc is Fabregas so we know he is in, Denilson has been probably our most consistent player this season but Alex Song is in incredible form right now so those players will give Arsene a little selection headache.
I also wonder if the return of Van Persie and Adebayor to the side will mean back to a straight 4 across midfield or if he will just include those players into the 4-2-3-1 formation that has served him well recently.
Another option Wenger has if he is not sure about playing Gibbs in such an important game is to bring Song back into the center of defence with Mikael Silvestre moving across to left back. Both stand in’s looked below our current standard on the weekend, that is probably mainly down to lack of games recently the only problem I have with that reshuffle is Alex Song not playing at center back for so long and then having to change his game again. At least Gibbs has been playing left back near enough all season, either selection will have a risk attached to it, so we will have to trust Arsene to make the right choice. If Gibbs does play then you can expect Nasri to do plenty of covering and tracking back to protect him, especially as Villarreal look good in wider areas.
Interesting how many fans were hoping for Gibbs to replace Clichy full time then one Premier League game later many of those same fans want Gibbs nowhere near the first team.
Great news that Marcos Senna will be out through injury. I expect Villarreal to have a decent amount of possession on the big Emirates turf and we have seen what a danger he can be when he is around the penalty box.
I do not think they will come straight out and try and outplay us, I expect them to be well organised and work hard closing us down, they will want to gradually impose themselves, so as always an early goal would be quite handy. Our first half performances lately have not been good enough to piece through a quality team like Villarreal, but I will be very surprised to see us start well. We usually start strong in big games and I expect no different this time round.
I started off thinking that we would be superior to them at home but I just have a twinge of fear of their great technique. I hope that we can close them down quickly and knock them out of their rhythm.
Wenger has always said that he usually wants to play his best players so I think that Song may drop out and Cesc could replace him and partner Denilson.
Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up

Mean Lean’s Match Prediction
Arsenal 2 (Adebayor, Van Persie) Villarreal 1
I can see the game being locked at 1-1 for long periods but hopefully we shall find a second half winner, which would leave us with the inevitable uncomfortable moments knowing that another Villarreal goal would take them through. I do not care how the game goes as long as we go through to the semi finals.
I urge those who are going tonight to make as much noise as possible, lets inspire this team to greatness.
