Hopefully we can see Diaby play his best football of his Arsenal career and nail down a place in the starting 11
Hello again, it feels like an eternity since I last wrote something on here. I have had a few days off to sort out some stuff that has been nagging over my head and I suppose the International break is the best time for me to do that.
I tell you what though guys, it is a weird world out there away from Newsnow and forums. People actually communicate verbally and humans actually set goals and achieve them. Wow, I am not sure what to make of real life.
I am sitting on the train listening to someone else’s music blasting from their earphones. How annoying and inconsiderate! I’ve never used this before and it bloody well makes me feel old but in my day earphones were for the use of the individual and not for everyone else to hear.
Anyway, enough waffle for a couple of seconds. What has been happening in the world of de Goonars? Well, I was kinda hoping you’d tell me.
Theo Walcott played for England against Kazakhstan in the worst 5-1 victory that I have ever seen. Quite a few people have said the same thing but it is true. I can not remember a game ending 0-0 at half time and then having 6 second half goals. Theo started quite lively but faded out of the game, partly to do with the fact that he wasn’t receiving the ball. Theo cannot do anything without the ball. I had a feeling that he wouldn’t have a highly productive game purely due to the expectation heaped on his shoulders after the game in Zargreb which I actually feel like he has played much better in other games for Arsenal this season. He was able to score all three of his chances and that was the difference.
I have not had the chance to write about Walcott’s former club teammate, Alex Hleb has been incredibly disrespectful towards his former employers.
“He tells me he misses me at Arsenal and, without wanting to detract from anyone, I would love it if he came to Barca to be a part of all this. I don’t stop insisting that he should return to Barca and he doesn’t stop insisting that he is very happy at Arsenal and with Arsene Wenger.”
Hleb added: “I will keep boring him until he changes his mind. If in the end he listens to me, I think it would be great for Barcelona.”
Someone from our squad should really give Barca-squad-player-Hleb a phone call and explain what respect for your former employers are. It makes me sick. We spent so much time and patience on him and this is how he repays the club.
I am trying to ignore all the rumours with Cesc to Barca and Read Madrid because it will not stop until one day he leaves. So to keep me sane I will block out this crap unless one of our former players comes out and blabs his mouth.
Kolo Toure has denied that there is a height issue within the team.
“I remember the best defenders were Baresi and Cannavaro – you don’t have to be really tall,” Toure is quoted by Setanta Sports as saying.
“Baresi was not tall but he was a great player, while Cannavaro was the best defender in the world – hopefully I will be the same,” Toure said.
“When you consider the set-pieces it’s not just the centre-backs, it’s everybody who has to defend.”
“But I’ve been playing for the club for seven years, I’ve played in a UEFA Champions League final, won the Premier League and I’m really confident about everything this season,” he added.
I agree that the team have to defend better from set pieces and not just the center backs but surely the two central defenders have to be powerful in the air. I agree that it is not all about height and if you are not very tall then you have to be dominating in the air which both Toure and Gallas are not.
Hopefully we can see Diaby play his best football of his Arsenal career and nail down a place in the starting 11.
Before I disappear, I would like to welcome Ole Gunner to the site as a new Arsenal Vision writer. He has been writing comments and Your Vision articles for a while now and always makes a lot of sense and manages to put his point across very well.
Wow, lunch time already, must dash. Back tomorra.
You can submit your own articles on the YourVision section and receive feedback from fellow Gooners.
