A good result can make a world of difference can’t it?
Today I feel positive once again about our squad and ability to win trophies this season. Ok, after witnessing Manchester United dump on Aston Villa from quite a height, I would say that winning the league is pretty much gone for this season, unless Manchester lose to both us and Chelsea (possible) and lost a few points here and there (not as possible) As well as this, Chelsea have to drop points in other areas apart from against Man Utd. Then we have to win all of our remanding matches, so as I said its unlikely but we have the champions league to look forward to.
The final half an hour against Bolton has given me the confidence to believe that we can go through to the semi finals. We have to start positively and put them onto the back foot. I am afraid that if the two matches turn into a chess match then we will lose. We have to make the two games into football matches.
Arsene Wenger will have to make a decision to make on Walcott or the rested Eboue. As much as I think Walcott made a huge impact when he came on against Bolton I just feel that Arsene will want to make sure his side is tight defensively and he still has the option of Walcott making an impact from the bench.
My one concern is Senderos playing against Torres. Liverpool will be looking to catch us on the counter attack with Gerrard driving forward from the half way line looking to slip the inform Torres in between our central defenders. Toure is the one player who can catch him but he could continue playing at right back. Gallas and Senderos will not be able to recover if he gets away.
One thing is for sure is that Liverpool will want to stop us playing first and foremost and it is how we deal with that. We will need to move the ball around faster than we have done lately.
I think that we need a victory to take to Anfield otherwise we will be in trouble.
Before I move on, if you haven’t read Squid boy’s match report then I suggest you do, great read. Click this link
Away from this to more important matters. Alot of you Gooners will know that it is the 7th year anniversary of David Rocastle’s tragic death. I am not ashamed to tell you that I had tears in my eyes when I found out the news when I was on holiday in Torquay with my girlfriend. Rocastle was a hero of mine when I was younger, I used to copy his drag back in the playground and it was just horrible that it happened to such a talented and nice guy.
He as well as Anders Limpar will always go down as my favourite players no matter what players come in over my future years as an Arsenal supporter. I love his goal at Old Trafford when he chipped Peter Schmeical. Sheer class.
