When Armand Traore came on for Kolo Toure against Everton I was immediately excited at the prospect of watching two teenagers with blistering pace attack the opposition
Good afternoon, strange time to post a My Vision article but I wanted to show my face at least. My girlfriend had a scan today and I went along to see.
So we wave goodbye to Flamini and Lehmann at least. We continue to wait to find out what happens to the likes of Hleb and Gilberto. Hopefully they will stay. I think Gilberto will stay if he gets assurances that he will be a starter next season. I don’t think Gilberto is passed it by any stretch of the imagination. I just feel like he didn’t have a pre season and has not had a run of games to get last seasons form back. As much as I like Gilberto and what he brings I just feel that Flamini’s energy was a big part of our success this season and drafting Gilberto back would be a backwards step. I would like to see a like for like midfielder alongside Cesc. I haven’t given up hope on Denilson. Whether or not he is the answer remains to be seen.
Arsene Wenger has attempted to keep Adebayor’s feet planted firmly on the ground with some very interesting comments.
“I believe if Ade keeps his work ethic, there is still 20% more to come from him. Does he want it enough – to get this extra 20% out? Well that is where his future lies. If you lose that desire, you quickly become a nobody.”
Wenger continued: “He was never prolific at Monaco, but he has worked hard for it at Arsenal and it highlights that our offensive game favours the strikers.
Is there something going on there that we do not know about? Is Adebayor becoming big for his boots? Does he think he is Thierry Henry? It seems a little unusual for Arsene to come out and say those comments if it didn’t have some sort of meaning behind it.
Thierry Henry will be a Barcelona player next season according to the Frenchman.
Henry said: “About my future, no, I do not want to leave. I still have three years left on my contract here and I will still be here next year.”
I suspect that if Rijkaard wasn’t guaranteed to leave then it may have been a different story. The Arsenal fans who were hoping of his return were mistaken. Arsene Wenger has seen the team grow and improve alot since his departure, there is no way that Wenger would go back to Henry FC.
I am getting annoyed about the Hleb rumours. It should be a straight forward thing of ‘No, he is staying’ end of. Or ‘He will only go if another team can pay us £20,000,000’ all this waiting around crap isn’t what you want to hear as an Arsenal fan.
Ronaldo is currently the best player in the world and there is no talk of him joining another Spanish or Italian club.
I was hoping that Arsene would sign a winger in the summer. A wide player who can beat players and chip in with goals but I have the feeling that the manager will feel he has enough in that department. Hleb, Rosicky, Walcott, Eboue, Traore and Vela can all play in wide positions and most of them can play on both sides. Van Persie and Eduardo can also play in wide areas.
When Armand Traore came on for Kolo Toure against Everton I was immediately excited at the prospect of watching two teenagers with blistering pace attack the opposition fullbacks. I cannot remember a time when Wenger played two out and out wingers in a match, even in a cameo role.
Carlos Vela’s introduction to the Arsenal squad is very interesting. He reminds me of a taller Jose Reyes. Hopefully his bollocks are a little bigger.
Congratulations to the Arsenal ladies for another FA Cup and League double. Some of the football they played was at a very good level. The Arsenal influence seems to be all around the club.
Enjoy the end of a lovely hot day. Drop your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
