I, like many, am very excited and wondering how the manager is going to incorporate these collection of fine players. Players like Tomas Rosicky and Samir Nasri will want to take their place in the side alongside Cesc Fabregas, Andrey Arshavin and Robin Van Persie
My word, is it quiet today or what?
I hate International weeks with a passion. I couldn’t even motivate myself to watch the Argentina vs Brazil match let alone watching Rooney flopping to the floor, obviously very honestly of course. I think the opposition player should get a two match ban just for not allowing Rooney to get a shot away, I mean how very dare he (in the voice of Catherine Tate)
So what’s new? Oh yeah we are set to sign an Inter Milan striker for *insert random price tag* on a *insert random contract length*
We are not really set to sign him but now that our manager has praised the talented forward everyone will now start adding him to their wish list even though a large proportion will have never seen him play before but we have been here before haven’t we? I would imagine that if our manager wanted to get his hands on the player as soon as possible that he would in fact say nothing at all. We know too well that if our manager wants a player then he makes the right noises in the correct channels, which usually means finding out the players character and personality, speaking to the club and finding out what his availability is like and finally speaking to the player to see if there is any interest in coming to the best club in world football.
Once all this is done then perhaps and only perhaps he may give a little indication that he is interested. May this already have happened I hear you thinking. I doubt that anything would happen behind the scenes so far away from the January transfer window where practically anything can happen in the mean time.
Mario Balotelli is supposed to be a temperamental player so maybe Wenger is working some magic and diverting his rivals onto the player to pick up a bad egg, maybe that is going a little too far, but with Chelsea being how they are you cannot blame me. Anyway this is what Wenger said about the player.
“In particular I am keeping an eye out for Balotelli, a player I like very much. In my view he can be one of the best.”
They do seem a little out of character from the boss don’t they?
We have another round of fun midweek games from our players in different shirts to not look forward to, especially with the injury to Djourou. If we can come away without anymore problems then our injury room will look pretty empty it seems.
Johan Djourou, Samir Nasri & Theo Walcott could well be the only players that we could be waiting on (saying rather anxiously with Tomas Rosicky in mind) and that isn’t too bad for us. We could go into the Manchester City game full of quality.
I am a little confused about the injury status of Tomas Rosicky. He didn’t feature for his country over the weekend and Arsenal.com said this was because of injury. Is this the old injury? or is this some recent injury that no one has bothered to tell me about, I really hope it is the former. If anyone has any inside information then please do tell. I am going to assume that he is still fit and on course for some first team footie soon.
I, like many, am very excited and wondering how the manager is going to incorporate these collection of fine players. Players like Tomas Rosicky and Samir Nasri will want to take their place in the side alongside Cesc Fabregas, Andrey Arshavin and Robin Van Persie. Many fans have suggested that it is not an issue because we just replace the likes of Song or Denilson but those fans are not thinking about one fundamental word that Wenger has been talking about since the second half of last season. Balance.
Arsene Wenger is not about to adopt the Ossie Ardiles approach to football and play attackers in every position. Currently Alex Song and Denilson are doing great work for the team, they are allowing the team to keep possession of the ball by winning it back, they are stopping the opposition from attacking our back four. These players are instrumental to the team and to the positive start we have had so far.
At the same time it will be interesting to know what Wenger’s pecking order is throughout the squad.
I am sure at stages against teams who are fighting for a 0-0 at the Emirates we will see changes on 70 minutes which will see a very creative and attacking line up but generally Arsene will want a strong base first with his attacking players around it. Exciting stuff anyway you look at it.
I’d be interested to know what the readers think is our strongest team in the comments.
Ok, as there is still pretty much sod all to write about I think I shall cut my losses and come back tomorrow with some more nothing to write about.
