As Tottenham Hotspur change managers like I change my socks I will have to go for chairman Daniel Levy as by the time I finished writing this post they will probably be onto a new manager. Levy would be flicking the latest YouTube comments about the latest cool games to gamble on. Without any research or thought Danny boy would blow his entire inheritance on these games only to realise that he had made (another) huge mistake and has overpaid for yet more rubbish.

Which manager would be Casino king?
Football managers are a strange species, they really are. They all have the same job title but are very different to how they approach the game and acquiring new players in the transfer market. I thought it would be an interesting and fun idea to imagine the various managers in the scenario of a Casino room, with the room being the transfer market. Understood thus far? Good.
So let’s start with Rafa Benitez who is no longer gracing these shores but I remember looking in amazement at his dealings in the market. It would go something a little like this. Rafa would walk into a casino having withdrawn all of his cash he would jump around the tables playing every game he could. Shoving his chips into his pockets until the night came to an end. Then he would discover that he had overpaid on most of them only to give his chips away for a fraction of the price the next morning.

Martin O’Neil would be playing all the English games in the Casino, he wouldn’t play anything that wasn’t English even if it meant paying double for a game that clearly was not as good as some non English games. But the one man who would be cleaning up every single time would be one Arsène Wenger. The wylie Frenchman would have been up studying the game months before playing, working out how best to spread his money across the room. This money was from the home business he had grown single handedly just to make sure he wasn’t delving into his own pockets.
Arsène would be negotiating with the dealers, bringing the price down on games that have fixed prices. He’d have young women crowding round his table cheering his name while Arsène smirks and sips his wine. Arsène is the master of the transfer market and if I wanted any football managers betting for me in a casino or even an online casino then Arsène Wenger would be my choice for sure.
