Adebayor was unhappy at Arsenal last season and had to go so we can move on and strengthen other areas of the squad. I expect the money to be reinvested, the coming season will be vital, probably the most important of Wenger’s Arsenal career to date
Good afternoon Gooners,
I guess it is difficult to start today anywhere other than Emmanuel Adebayor, not that I want to write much more about him as I have already said my part on him and the situation HERE but I shall dip my toe into the water for a second.
It all appears to be unfolding in front of us, Wenger and Adebayor must have known about this last season at some stage, probably towards the end of the season when he was dropped from the match day squad at Old Trafford and before he had that interview with the BBC. So another season goes by when Wenger has to balance the books which is obviously important in any business, I would have rather it was not with our first team players. I cannot remember the last time when we had all the first team players the following season. It is little wonder why it has taken us a little longer to win silverware.

So it would be a huge risk if another forward wasn’t brought in and if any other areas of the team that Arsene felt needed stiffening up.
Not quite sure what Mark Hughes is going to do with Santa Cruz and Adebayor in the same team but that is not my problem I guess.
Much more disturbing than Adebayor potentially leaving the club is former captain Patrick Vieira coming back to North London. The wrong side of North London!
Rumours have been circulating that Vieira could be on his way to Tottenham which would be truly gut-wrenching. I just cannot imagine Vieira in that shirt celebrating with the likes of Robbie Keane and Ledly King, urgh, it makes me feel sick inside. I know people have to think of their own lives and careers and maybe it is the best offer financially for him but please no, take a pay cut and join Lyon. Play for West Ham, any other team just not them. I can hear the Spuds fans now, laughing and mocking us about how they have our former captain. The knowledge that they feel a little better about the Campbell switch is just horrible.
Vieira could be well past it, out of his depth and playing awfully, it still would not make it any better. Ok, perhaps a little.
Funny rumours are flying around now. The press are obviously reading around the blogs and reading that many Arsenal fans are pining for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, even though he is supposed to be signing for Stuttgart. Apparently the Chamakh deal could fall through because they want to take Silvestre in the other direction but ironically enough that has put off Arsene. So he could now spend another ten million extra and buy a striker who is mainly a finisher and not much else. We have Eduardo in the squad and he is one of the most gifted finishers I have ever seen.
It is funny nowadays that the sports news that we read is actually generated by the readers themselves, how interesting. I might start posting comments stating that I want Titus Bramble to play for Arsenal then read tomorrow’s headline on newsnow Wenger is shock Bramble swoop – Daily Mail
Back to Chamakh he seems to be biding his time before making a choice.
“I have good contacts from clubs and the possibility to join a Premier League club,” Chamakh told Le Parisien.
“Sunderland is a big club and the fanbase is almost as big as anything. I will take my time because there is some very interesting interest and I have to make the best choice.”
Perhaps Sunderland have already lodged a bid for the striker and he is mow waiting to find out the result of the Adebayor situation, that is the best I can do without knowing any facts.
There is not much else going on but one thing is certain, as soon as I post this up some more interesting news will surface. Sod is clearly not a Gooner.
