YourVision – Balance is the key
When do we ever pick up players like this?. Our team is full of creative players with no destructive players in sight. No leaders, no strong players, no players that can shut up shop

What happened last night is a direct result of Arsenal’s blueprint when looking for players. Always looking for skilful , two footed comfortable with the ball types. i.e. good on the flanks, constructive players and good going forward. They are not usually central players and usually are easily injured!!.
This seems to be the bottom line when Arsenal scouts are sent looking for new players and we therefore sign or are linked with the same types of players ad nauseum.
But to achieve success in any team sport you need balance in the team. With the constructive type of player you also need the more destructive type. The type of player that you put into the centre and spine of your team. That is not to say that this type of player cannot play. it is just that he brings other qualities to the table.
Well down the Arsenal list of priorities seems to be this more destructive type of player. The player that stops the other team from playing. The covering centre midfielder, and strong centre halves. Players that can defend corners at one end and score from corners at the other end. When do we ever pick up players like this?. Our team is full of creative players with no destructive players in sight. No leaders, no strong players, no players that can shut up shop. Would we have signed Terry, Vidic, Carragher. Yet every team needs players like this to attain a proper balance.
When we at our best we had Adams and Keown fronted by Vieira and Petit. Would they have allowed that debacle to happen last night?
We need balance so in this transfer window let’s start looking for the type of players that will make our team balanced and whole.
