I know I might get alot of stick but whats up with everybody critizing Eboue? I know he got a red card against that horrible game at Old Trafford but Wenger has witnessed about seventy red cards to his players over his Arsenal coaching career and he didnt comment anything about that! Almost every gooner are fed up with him and every one wants him to go which I dont get.
He was probably the best right- back in the premier league in recent seasons albeit Arsenal havent been nearly at their best but he has been great in last couple of seasons. Storming through the right flank as been really his trade mark.
This season, he hasnt played to his usual standards but I think its due to not really getting accustomed to his new position. Playing at right back he was involved in most things, when Arsenal were in the back foot then he would be there busy defending and while they were attacking he would be right up there providing support. Now due to the emergence of Sagna his defensive responsibility has been cut short and still finds it difficult to solely concetrate on attacking. Now take the Manure game for example he was nowhere to be found until the incident of the red card but if he played at right back then Nani wouldnt have round rings round Eboue as he did to Hoyte that I assure you. When it comes to defending one on one the he is second to none as really many talented wingers have tried but failed like Robinho, Nedved, Ronaldo! If he goes then the only cover left is Hoyte who was totally outclassed in every way possible.
If anyone saw the Inter game at the pre-season friendly one would see how Eboue was something else that day so we all know he has potential so all he needs is support from his OWN fans as Adebayor once said that the reason he is playing so well is because of the fans overwhelming support. Sometimes it feels like everytime Arsenal play badly the scape goat has to be Eboue, while this is aboslutely unfair it is also ridiculous as Cesc was equally poor and surely if Gallas got the red card he deserved would anybody be on the captain’s back?
He has the speed, strength, ability and lest we not orget the defensive work he puts in and the priceless understanding he has with Sagna and also as someone said his “shameful antics tend to run down the clock”? What more do you want from the defender turned mildfielder?
Looking on to the A.C game, I hope Sagna is still out as am sure Hoyte has played his way out of contetion, Eboue will play at right back as I think his red card suspension is domestically. Seedorf will get nowhere and after that game feel free to make your judgement..
