Walcott over his Arsenal career has been targeted as one of the hot teenage prospects but sincerely what has he done to be branded that?Sure, he went to the World Cup but he could have gone as the bus driver and still wouldnt have made a difference coz he didnt play. Am sure if Defoe or Johnson or even Heskey went instead of him they would have played a part. If Walcott had signed for Fulham rather than Arsenal, would he be seen in the same light? Not in a million years!

This season he had a few good games coming from the bench and made an impact and also I think had his best game against Slavia Prague (which by the way says alot.) He scored four goals in 2-3 seasons for Arsenal so what does that say? He is poor at shooting to be honest, needs to build up muscle, has talent and pace but I think he has too much pace that he cant even control, he usually forgets the ball and continues running, am sure you remember him having succesful dribbles but am not sure if you remember the unsuccesful dribbles.

Games against Slavia Prague, Sunderland, Fulham, Walcott can occasionally flourish but lets face it against the big guns can Arsenal really count on him? I cant recall an away game which Walcott played well. Even the game at Slavia which I personally thought he would continue his streak against them but he was awful.
Am not saying he is not a good player but he isnt the player we say he is. A true teenage phenomenom is someone who is already estalished by the end of his teenage years as world class, players like Messi, Robinho, Ronaldo, Fabregas, can we put Walcott in the same class? Can you really say that Walcott will be as good as Henry one day?

Walcott is simply over-rated and nobody has the balls to say so just because he plays for Arsenal and a rare commodity (i.e his English and in Arsenal colors) while players like Bentley, Richards, Young and Nugent made a name for themselves playing at lower clubs and got to the national team. Gareth Bale played a few games for Spurs and already scored a couple times and displaced their left-back that is untill he got injured.I know Walcott is only eighteen but who says he is going to get better, if that was the case in every football player then the whole under 18 academy would be promoted to the senior squad but that is not the case only a few will succeed.

So lets stop over-rating him untill he gives us proof that he is going to be great.
