Spend big!? I’m not so sure that is what we should do. I mean, do we really need another striker? Adebayor has scored 13 goals in the league, (only Ronaldo has scored more) and Eduardo has began to deliver as well, and don’t forget that van Persie is coming back to full fitness soon. We also have Bendtner as cover! If Wenger buys another striker, surely Bendtner or someone else would want to leave…(or should i say MUST leave). Otherwise there would be to many strikers in our squad! And if i’m not mistaken we also have Carlos Vela out on loan…

As for buying Benzema I would go for it in the summer cause if we buy him now he can’t even play against AC Milan cause he’s cup-tied (having played for Lyon in the Champions League). Though I would only buy him if someone of the other strikers leave, or maybe change their position to a winger or something. Maybe even Benzema can play winger, i don’t know? I know he’s a good player, but in my mind we already have good players up front!

If you look at recent seasons, say between 2001-2006, we had Henry and Bergkamp but except for them the other strikers weren’t that good…Wiltord, Reyes, Jeffers, Aliadiere and so on… They were just good on occations but never really delivered for long periods.

Now we have van Persie and Adebayor as our main strikers, with Eduardo and Bendtner as back-up and for me this is better than having to rely on one player (Henry) to produce the magic!
Although at the back i feel there is more to worry about when Kolo Touré isn’t there!

We have Gallas, Senderos and Djourou and of those i really just trust Gallas! Senderos i feel will never be as good as it takes for a center-back playing in one of europe’s best teams. As for Djourou I feel he will be there in a few years but he’s just too young now…

So for me we do need a center-back! But having said that I don’t think Wenger will buy one! I’m sure of that, cause if he does buy a center-back where will he play when Touré comes back? And you won’t get a world class center-back that isn’t given the chance to play regularely in the first team! And another reason that Wenger won’t buy a center-back is that he took back Djourou from his loan-deal with Birmingham! He wouldn’t have done that if he was planning to buy a center-back! So as the saying goes, “This is what you get!” but i’m convinced that we will compete in every competition this season! And the reason for that is that we always play better in the latter stages of every season and we’ll do so this season too…

As for the season so far, we have played 35 games and only lost 2! We have taken 83 points out of these games and that is by far the best we have done in our first 35 games since the 1930’s…that’s should say a lot!
Of course Man United has also started as good as us but I don’t think we could ask for more really! Another big difference from the last couple of seasons is that we don’t rely on the one player to score the goals! Adebayor has scored 13, Eduardo and Fabregas 11, van Persie 7 (and he hasn’t played more than 13 games) and we also have Rosicky with 6 goals and Bendtner with 5, surely we have players that can score the goals for us! So all this talk about buying big, i really don’t see how that would make it better? If we buy big, we’d have to sell some players also and that would just disrupt the atmosphere around the team! But in the summer of course we will see some new players but as for this season we won’t see any! Not any big signings anyway! There might pop up some new youngsters (Luke Freeman is already here) but that’s it!
But on the other hand, you’ll never know when it comes to Wenger…

He always buys when you least expect it…but don’t get your hopes up for any “Big” signins…
