So now what ? have we already lost the premier league title ? Come May , will we be left empty handed once again ? To answer those questions we must first look at the reasons behind our bad results & how to overcome them.

The biggest problem we’re facing at the moment is that weaker teams are starting to believe they could beat us , last year teams were afraid of Arsenal that’s why we did so well until February , That’s how the invincibles went unbeaten the whole season , They won each game psychologically before it had even started . That’s how we should have continued this season but didn’t .

The Defence : I don’t think we need a new defensive midfielder , Denilson has by far been one of our most consistent & dependable players this season & already has a few goals & assists under his belt , Had he been a new singing he would have been considered a revelation . What we do need is a strong tall center back , neither one of our centerbacks is good in the air , maybe our best one in the air is djourou but he still isn’t the solution . Manuel Almunia , though I can’t deny he’s a good keeper , he isn’t a match winning keeper , no “How the hell did he save that” moments . Seaman & Lehmann both could do so , even fabiansky had one such moment against wigan .

Cesc Fabregas , one of the main reasons we did so well last season is extremely under-performing , the amount of missed passes from him in the past few games is unbelievable . Some say he just isn’t interested anymore , that his head is already at barca . I think he just needs a breather & he’ll be back to his best , so his suspension in the next game is the best thing that could happen at this time .

He can’t control . time his runs , pass & even score . I found myself laughing watching him play against Villa . He’s extremely arrogant & when all our strikers are fit (hopefully) he’d come sixth in the pecking order , so I say let’s ship him off , not an Arsenal playes at all .

So how could we end up winning the title , or the champions league ? We look like a team capable of winning a cup competition & as we showed against Man Utd we can rise to any big game so I have a good feeling we’ll end up with the champions league or the FA cup or both . For the league our next games are : Chelsea , Wigan , Middlesbrough & liverpool . We need 3 wins & a draw which is not impossible . Such results will regain our mental edge against lesser teams . I think we have the players to do it & build on it for the rest of the season .

The difference between our dip in form this season & the previous is that last year we suffered that dip in conjunction with losing Eduardo , Rosicky & van Persie to injury . This season we’re getting the former 2 in a few weeks time AND the january transfer window Which will boost us even more if needed . So it’s not all doom & gloom , we have a chance but it needs hard work , I have faith in our team & manager , we deserve a piece of silverware & I think it’s about time we got it , besides I have a feeling that the Carling cup will be our FIRST trophy this season .
