Recently there has been a lot of transfer speculation mostly regarding wingers though I believe Wenger should get a winger or two I also believe he has a gem in his own ranks a player that every time I have seen has impressed me. This man is Traore a lot of his attacking attributes such as pace, skill and a wicked left foot are some of the reasons why I have always liked him but the main reason behind my admiration for him is that he has something in his armory that stands out which is his excellent crossing ability. I have always believed a winger or full back with a consistently accurate crossing ratio is a massive advantage to the team just ask Santa Cruz.
David Beckham was of course the benchmark of this art during his years with Man U, Real Madrid and also during his International career can you remember how many games were grinded out because of his service if you can’t neither can I. I believe Traore can have a similar if not the same impact for Arsenal and our problems of grinding out a result more frequently could be a thing of the past. A 0-0 draw could be a 1-0 victory courtesy of a very good crosser.
Of course Traore’s defensive ability is not at Clichy’s level but I must stress I am not talking about deploying him as first choice left back but instead as a left winger.
Traore has shown in the games he has played in just how effective he can be. For example the Newcastle game in the Carling Cup where it was his cross that led to the first goal or the Everton game recently where it was his cross that provided the winner.
The question I am trying to impose is should Traore be given a chance next season? Because I certainly do.
