Watford (h) Confirmed Line Up: Alexis & Özil Start In Strong Line Up

Arsène has put out a strong team for the cup clash with Watford today. With two big games coming up at Barcelona and Everton, I wondered how the manager would approach this game. Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal aside this is about as strong as it gets at present.

Watford (h) Thoughts & Predicted Line Up: Arsene’s Juggling Act, Elneny’s Massive Engine & Wembley In Our Sights

After Arsène's comments about boom boom boom (gotta get that) Giroud, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Frenchman kept in the team to see if he can continue scoring goals again. Anyway Welbeck will be saved for Barcelona, where he can tear them to shreds, scoring four counter attacking goals or something

Hull City (a) – Giroud & Walcott Score The Goals While Elneny & Iwobi Continue To Impress

There were some good individual performances on the night. The more I see of Elneny, the more I like him. Doesn't look to do anything flashy or highlight worthy, just makes good decisions from start to finish. Because of this, he rarely loses the ball, when you combine that with someone who works so hard on the pitch you cannot help but feel excited about his future role in the team. Alex Iwobi continues to look the part, gliding across the pitch, knitting everything together with his early and accurate passing

Sanchez desperately needs to get his mojo back

“Alexis caught on camera” (CC BY 2.0) by  Ronnie Macdonald  It’s the time of the season when teams need to call upon their big guns. The Premier League title is within reach for a number of teams still, but now is where the pressure really starts to mount. This is when those expensive marquee signings have to step […]

Hull City (a) Thoughts & Line Up: Cup Run & Momentum The Aim

Tonight I expect Arsène to ring in the changes, he said as much in the pre match presser. Rotation has it's pros and cons, we know what the cons are of playing the same players every match, having lost some key players for long stretches of the season and also Oliver Giroud's drop in form are good indicators of playing too much football but at the same time, when you produce a good team performance as we did for the most part at White Hart Lane, you want

Tottenham (a) – Coquelin & Back Post Errors Haunt Improved Arsenal

Players like Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin are aggressive, front footed defensive players who make tackles and interceptions by force, we take it for granted when they do their jobs well so unfortunately this is the other side of the coin. It was rash and ultimately snatched a chance to win the game out of our grasp but some of the frothing has been a little overboard in my opinion

Tottenham (a) Thoughts & Predicted Line Up: As Crunchy As A Crunch Match Gets

I cannot help but feel the entire game will revolve around how we deal with Tottenham's high energy pressing game. We struggled massively against it last season and that was with Santi Cazorla deep in midfield, a player who is often able to tip toe his way around onrushing opposition players and start a move with a decisive pass to a player who has found space between the lines. Since we lost Santi and pretty much Arteta, that option does not exist so I worry about Coquelin and Ramsey trying to deal with that issue. Unlike last season, we will need to find a way to escape that and not get penned back inside our own half for long stretches of the game
