Another thrilling game in the carling cup this year for the gunners. The first half was pretty non eventful. Neither side wanted to concede and it showed. Aliadiere was extremely quiet in the first half an hour or so. He is a strange player. Looks decent on the ball, makes good intelligent runs off the ball the trouble is that he tends to run as far away from the ball as possible.
The New Arsenal
Robert Pires who was on the same wavelength as his french compatriot Thierry Henry. Freddie Ljungberg's well timed runs were rarely ignored by the classy Dutchman and this produced many goals for Arsenal. For all the negatives we can say about him we had the best left back in the premiership probably in European football.

While we have the advantage of the two away goals, which means that we win if the score is 0-0 or 1-1 after 120 minutes, it will be another difficult game, with Spurs once again playing their strongest line-up while we rest certain players. Another performance of the calibre of the one we saw at White Hart Lane will be required. Although preferably without two early conceded goals. Ahem.

As we expected they closed us down at every opportunity. Cesc who I thought was going to be rested wasn't allowed the space that he got in the second half at Shite Hart Lane. So wasn't able to dictate the play as we are used to.
