What a wonderful game of football at White Hart Lane last night. Tottenham as expected put out the strongest side that they could field. Arsenal had 3 first team players in Toure, Senderos and surprisingly Cesc Fabregas. The rest of our side was made up of promising talent such as the impressive Brazilian Denilson. I've mentioned it in a previous article but the young Jackson five looking Brazilian has a little Cesc Fabregas about him.
The kids against the scum, almost sounds a bit unfair doesn't it? The truth of the matter is that the kids are probably better technically than the Tottenham first team, and there is not much chance of Spurs playing anything other than their strongest side as it is rare that they get this close to silverware regardless of it being the worthless cup.
Get in! So we have done double over the old enemy. What a way to end the game. Its normally United who score the late minute winner. But not this time.
Our fifth ‘Big’ game of the season approaches us at the start of a tough run of four fixtures, giving the lads a break from the North West. We’ve got a good record so far this season, winning three and drawing one thanks to the foul fouling bastard that is Cashley Cole. United will no doubt be after revenge for Adebayor’s telescopic leg giving us the deserved victory back in September. In a period of good form this is a test that we HAVE to react positively to and get the three points, otherwise we’ll just go one step back again.
3 away wins in a row in the north west? Yes, it finally looks as like the Gunners have turned the corner. Blackburn were on top form before the game as were we following our successful trips to Liverpool.
After a joyous few days spent in scouse land, we now travel further north for a traditional difficult away tie. And yet another away game at 5.15.
What a funny game this was, it almost seemed unreal.
The injury list continues to grow. Julio's beastly groin had been pulled against Bolton and now is a doubt for the carling cup second leg
That feel good feeling seems to be coming back to Arsenal fans. This was a performance of old that Adams, Vieira, Petit and Overmars would have been proud of.
I’m in a rare situation of being able to direct you downward to most of the form related stuff. We haven’t drawn Liverpool in the Carling Cup in the Wenger years, but we did beat them in the final in 87, and they beat us in 95 on the way to winning the trophy
